Official Company Policy
We Do NOT Sell To Unlicensed HVACR Contractors
(To be prominently posted at all sales counters)
It is the Official Policy of this company that we will NOT sell equipment or supplies to Unlicensed HVACR contractors and our employees who do not abide by and enforce this policy are subject to disciplinary action including possible termination.
State law in the State of Georgia requires HVACR contractors to be licensed by the state (O.C.G.A. §43-14) under the Construction Industry Licensing Board, Secretary of State’s office and our company will not be a part of any attempt to circumvent this law.
Our company cannot and will not accept the legal or liability questions and problems associated with selling to unlicensed contractors.
HVACR equipment has become so technologically sophisticated and complicated that installation and service personnel must be formally trained and properly licensed to correctly install and service it to insure that all life safety issues are adequately addressed.
Employees Buying Equipment
Further, we will not sell to employees of a licensed contractor if the equipment or supplies are not being billed to the licensed person or company. We feel it is legally and ethically wrong for an employee to perform work “on the side” during his off time when his employer should be receiving this work.
We will not sell refrigerant or equipment containing refrigerant unless the person purchasing it has the proper EPA Certification as required by 40 C.F.R. Part 82, Subpart F as promulgated pursuant to the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, 42 U.S.C. Section 7671(g).
As members of the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia, we have adopted this policy because we genuinely feel that it is for the overall welfare of consumers as well as the betterment of the industry as a whole and want to demonstrate our support of CAAG and all licensed contractors.
We very much appreciate the business of our customers who are properly licensed and certified and hope that unlicensed contractors understand the necessity of this Policy. We also encourage any unlicensed contractors to become licensed by calling the Licensing Board at (478)207-1455.
